What is Transpersonal Coaching?

Transpersonal means ‘beyond the personal’, beyond the individualised personality self. Transpersonal Psychology, regarded as the fourth developmental wave in the science of psychology, is the study of humanity’s highest potential, and recognises that human beings are far more than their everyday selves.

Whereas traditional coaching focuses primarily on enabling a person to consciously design and achieve their personal life, relationship and career goals, the transpersonal approach dances with goals at a far deeper level, opening into the inner values, needs and longings of the whole person, in mind, body, and particularly soul.

Transpersonal Coaching can powerfully bring forth a fulfilling life that embraces both the internal and external, creating expanded levels of personal happiness, wholeness, excellence and success in the world. Whilst this unique form of coaching may not have a specific agenda for healing, often the client’s journey can result in new levels of wellness, balance and inner peace.

Transpersonal Coaching, then, is the artistry of working in partnership with a person to enable them to live and work more fully and deeply, with heart and soul, with purpose and meaning. It facilitates an aliveness and alignment with one’s authentic self and spirit in all aspects of being in today’s world.

Students may receive further qualifications in related fields of study at Nature Care College as credits are recieved for each module completed. Suggestions include the Diploma of Counselling.

Who Recognises My Qualifications?

• Advanced Coaching Skills & Tools

  • In this module specific contexts of personality formation and behavioural patterns will be examined to assist the coach in looking beyond a client’s presenting “canvas”. Working with a client’s context and not just their content will enable change and transformation to occur at the deepest generative level. Learn advanced and creative tools to facilitate a client’s development towards their highest personal and professional potential. Students will learn how to apply their knowledge, skills and intuition to work with the client to find the mobility from within and unique-right-action,to move them towards their full potential.

• An Introduction to Transpersonal Psychology

  • This introductory course provides an overview of the key transpersonal psychological perspectives, concepts and issues which form the foundation of this unique approach to coaching, and the relevance of these perspectives to the personal, spiritual, social and global needs of our time. It also introduces the essential holistic principles and practices of the transpersonal context (eg.experiential, integrative), and begins the process of self-exploration in relation to major life transitions and rites of passage within the journey of transformation.

• Basic Marketing for Coaches

  • In order to launch a successful coaching practice, trainee coaches will learn how to access and release their inner entrepreneurial spirit. Engaging the principles of flow, manifestation and spiritual marketing, students create a vision for their practice, explore proven strategies for getting clients, and address the practicalities including insurance, business structure and pricing.

• Building Your Coaching Specialty

  • This module deepens and expands on the ideas and practices first introduced in ‘Basic Marketing for Coaches’. More and more coaches today are discovering the real advantages of specialising.  Trainees will explore their innermost values, passions, and vision in order to identify which area of coaching attracts them most deeply. Advanced strategies for practice building will be introduced and tested in the world, along with ongoing group coaching and peer support.

• Coaching Presence

  • In addition to mastering the practice of core coaching skills, this module explores the pivotal role of the coach in the facilitation of a client’s transformational journey. In order to facilitate change in another, it is essential that the coach is deeply grounded in their own authentic self, is able to be fully present with the client at all times, and embodies the key strengths and qualities of an effective coach.

• Core Skills for Transformation

  • These core interpersonal and communication skills form the backbone of any coaching conversation, and through the practice of macro and micro skills in the different phases and aspects of the coaching process, students begin to experience the deep effectiveness and power of coaching to build deep trust and intimacy with a client and to facilitate lasting transformation.

• Creating Awareness and Transformation

  • The journey of true personal and spiritual growth in the transpersonal context expands one’s awareness and understanding, and this module dives deeply into the ways in which the skilfull coach, fully authentic and present, can create awareness with the client, thus empowering them to access and integrate their own wisdom and insight for lasting transformation.

• The Transpersonal Coaching Relationship

  • Coaching is a highly potent partnership built on mutual respect and trust, honesty and clear agreements, where the client’s intentions and stated outcomes hold the central position. The stronger and more open this relationship, the more effectively the coach can support the client to raise their awareness, generate responsibility for their own process, offer insightful feedback and challenge them to be more of who they truly are. This module continues the deep dive into the personal presence of the coach, exploring advanced skills and techniques to profoundly support a client through their transformational process.

• Transformation in the Workplace

  • Coaching has firmly cemented its place in the business and coporate world as a highly valued management and leadership practice, and there is a growing trend in this market for coaching that goes beyond a focus on bottom-line results. This module is designed to introduce participants to applications of transpersonal coaching in the workplace, including personal leadership, personal and organisational values, career directions, interpersonal relationship development, team building and coaching, as well as the increasing recognition of emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence.

• Transformational Coaching in Practice

  • This module applies the foundational level of transpersonal coaching theory and skills to the direct coaching of a ‘client’. Within this module students are involved in a trainee coach program where they provide a series of weekly sessions to ‘client’ outside of class time. Guidance and supervision is provided in class to assist students to translate previously learnt theory, exercises and skills into ethical, professional and effective practice. The joys, challenges and professional responsibilities of the transformational coach role are actively explored.

• Transpersonal Coaching in Practice

  • This module offers the opportunity to integrate all the advanced theory and skills of transpersonal coaching in working directly with an external client, both for those who have already started working with clients professionally, and those who have yet to begin. Once again, students will participate in an advanced trainee coach program outside of class time, with professional supervision in class. Trainees will be encouraged see this as either a launching pad for their coaching career, or as an uplevelling of their current coaching practice.

• Transpersonal Coaching Integration

  • This final module has two primary intentions for completing the journey of becoming a Transpersonal Coach. Through the weekly coaching of another external client outside class time, together with in-class supervision, it offers a final opportunity for review and integration of the course learning. It is also provides students with a personal and collective rite of passage to empower their graduation into the world of professional coaching, and to celebrate the completion of this stage of their transformational journey.
