About the Course
The Diploma of Remedial Massage is an extension of the Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice and is a natural progression for students wishing to further their studies and improve their potential as a comprehensive remedial therapist.
Studies include; Massage for Athletes, Massage for Special Needs, Massage for Chronic Conditions and Massage in the Workplace

Graduates will be awarded the following qualifications:
- Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice which is a pre-requisite to
- Diploma of Remedial Massage
- Degree articulation to a Bachelor of Health Science - see Post Grade section beow
Post Graduate Pathways:
Graduates of Nature Care College's accredited Diploma of Remedial Massage are eligible for articulation into the Bachelor of Health Science (Complementary Medicine) at Charles Sturt University (CSU).
Graduates are also eligible for advanced standing in the following Nature Care College qualifications:
- Diploma of Reflexology
- Certificate IV in Aromatherapy
- Diploma of Aromatherapy

The Diploma of Remedial Massage is government accredited with the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA). The ASQA is the national regulator for Australia's vocational education and training.

2012: Payment Options
Option 1: Pay term by term as you go: An initial deposit of 50% of your first term tuition fees together with the $95 Enrolment Fee is required to secure your spot in the course. The balance of tuition fees are then due two weeks prior to the first day of each term.
Part-time 2 Year Program: For Cert IV & Diploma

Option 2: Payment Plans: An initial deposit of 50% of your first Terms tuition fees together with the $95.00 Enrolment Fee is required to secure your spot in the course. The balance can be paid by fortnightly or weekly instalments via direct debit with the balance due by the end of term. A 10% surcharge is applied to the outstanding balance as of the first week of term.

International Students: To calculate your course tuition fees add 10% to the total course cost. An annual administrative fee of $450 applies.

This module will cover functional anatomy and clincal assessment techniques which will assist the massage therapist to assess a clients needs and apply appropriate massage techniques and treatment stratergies. This module will have theory and practical components which will instill confidence in the therapists ability to manage acurately assess, interpret and treat a varied range of conditions presented by clients.

- Apply First Aid

This unit presented by Training Aid Australia deals with recognising and responding to an emergency in the workplace. Apply Basic First Aid (HLTFA1A) & Apply first aid (HLTFA301B) are compulsory in all our professional training programs. The course includes both a home study theory component and practical assessment. All participants are required to complete the theory component prior to attending this course. The theory component can be completed in one of two ways:
- Option 1: Online Training - Once enrolled a login and password will be sent via email for the online component to be completed prior to the training date.
- Option 2: Workbook and Manual - Once enrolled the participant receives their workbook and training manual to be completed prior to the training date.

The focus of this course is on how to care for clients with chronic conditions. We will discuss common chronic conditions that are seen by professional massage therapists, what services can be provided, modifications to massage as required. How to develop a treatment plan in relation to the client’s physical, mental and emotional condition.

The focus of this course is on how to care for clients who require special consideration when receiving massage treatments. These are people who belong to a special population such as the elderly or frail, cancer suffers or survivors, children, infants, adolescents, those with illness or disease that is long-term or permanent or with mental health problems.

This module is designed to help bodywork practitioners explore and practice massage professionally in a worlplace environment. It will cover a range of subjects such as work related injuries, risk factors, posture, treatment options, injury prevention, ergonomic workstations, development of treatment plans, self management and rehabilitation. Practical work is an integral component of this module general massage procedures and seated massage will be discussed and practiced.

A continuation of Swedish Massage, Remedial Massage 1 will provide you with the skills and knowledge to treat musculoskeletal problems using advanced massage techniques.

A continuation of Remedial Massage 1, you will be given the skills and knowledge to enable you to treat musculoskeletal problems using basic postural diagnosis techniques as well as soft tissue techniques.

This workshop incorporates two topics: Infection Control in Alternative Health Clinics and Occupational, Health and Safety (OHS).
This unit incorporates the skills and knowledge required to comply with infection control policies and procedures and contribute to OHS processes.

- Swedish Massage

Swedish massage is an introduction to general massage that employs the fundamental manipulations (techniques) applied to the soft tissues of the body. Swedish massage forms the underpinning practical and theoretical knowledge for Remedial Massage 1& 2. In this unit of study you will learn the basic techniques, ethical behaviour and boundaries, draping, contraindications, history and definition of massage etc. Participants on finishing this unit of study should be competent in all areas of general massage.

Are you a bodywork student interested in expanding your knowledge of the body and how it works? This unit of study is designed to cover the basic principles of pathology, methods of collecting data on clients, problem-solving, establishing a treatment plan and when to refer a client.
