Introduction to Plant Based Nutrition

A plant based diet has enormous benefits to human health, the environment and sustainability. Leading nutritional and dietetic associations in the US, Australia and around the world regard plant based diets as complete. It is their and other scientific institutions' opinions that a well-planned plant based diet is rich in protein, iron, calcium and other essential vitamins and minerals which makes it appropriate for individuals during all stages of the life cycle.

The plant-based sources of nutrients tend to be low in saturated fat, high in fibre, rich in antioxidants, and research indicates such diets decrease the incidence of dietary disease-related conditions inclusive diabetes, heart disease, cancer and auto immune disease.

This fun, integrative workshop not only highlights the benefits, science and principles behind plant based nutrition, but also offers take-home examples of foods and recipes. A great workshop for individuals, health coaches and practitioners looking for fun, simple and enticing ways to integrate more plant foods or transition into a plant based diet.

About the Facilitator 'Rowena Jayne'

Rowena is the author of the international best-selling book -The Joy of Real Food.  She has a Bachelor Degree in Health Science (Naturopathy), Advanced Diplomas in Nutrition, Naturopathy and Herbal Medicine, Practitioner Certifications in Neuro-Emotional Technique (NET) and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and has studied Ayurvedic Medicine. Rowena is an internationally respected Yoga Instructor of 13 years and an Advanced Plant-based Chef. She is a Nature Care graduate (Dip RM, Cert EFT) and has completed various courses at the college since 2000.

She is a key note speaker for various national events and delivers her presentations with engaging passion and an open-hearted approach, whilst offering day to day solutions to enhance your life using natural medicine.
