Gut Health - The Second Brain

We now know that the gut and brain are closely inter-related through bi-directional signaling pathways between the central nervous system and enteric nervous system. Both of these systems operate together in concert to control and manage a diversity of functions, and is known as the gut-brain axis or second brain.  The gut-brain axis is known to impact our immunity, metabolism, appetite, mood, behaviour and emotions.

The influence of the gut on health and disease is not only due to the gut-brain axis alone. Our gut microbiota (part of an ecological community of microorganisms that inhabit our body, perform tasks vital to life, that we humans are not capable of performing ourselves) also influences our neuro and physiological functions.

In this exciting workshop, we will present the latest research on the gut-brain axis; demonstrate how to establish a healthy gut; and correct imbalances through dietary and therapeutic recommendations.

This workshop will offer simple, well documented methods to help you, your family, and / or clients achieve optimal health and well-being. Easy to follow recipes will also be provided, along with a mini demonstration.
