Think, Feel, Connect & Flourish!

Help Positive Feelings Grow

Thankfully due to extensive research, we now understand the importance of taking a preventative approach to attain & maintain positive mental health. This realisation understands that looking after your emotional wellbeing is just as vital as looking after one’s diet and physical health.

With more people being treated for anxiety, stress, loneliness and exhaustion than ever before, people are seeking non-clinical help to cope with everyday mental challenges. Therefore we need to teach the beneficial practices that can improve our quality of life and help us to reach our full potential.

Mental Wellness is a dynamic process of moving from languishing, to resilience, to flourishing.

In traditional cultures around the world simple beneficial practices such as Mindfulness Meditation are highly regarded and integrated into everyday life to help people live their optimum life & stay well. Benefits of such practices go beyond stress relief, they are valuable for our overall mental health. Like other beneficial practices the most challenging part is often starting, but once established the benefits are life changing!

What is positive Mental Health?

Positive mental health encompasses a number of aspects such as positive relationships with others, personal mastery, autonomy, personal growth and development. Positive mental health is attained by achieving a state of balance affected by both challenging and rewarding life events.  It can be described as living with a feeling of purpose and meaning in life.

According to the World Health Organisation, mental health is….

'A state of well-being in which every individual realises his or her potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community'.

The Diploma of Mental Health Coaching focus is on promoting mental wellness to flourish. You will learn the beneficial practices to help people live their optimum life, stay well and reach their full potential.

Lifelong Strategies for Managing Mental Health

Working as a Positive Mental Health Coach is one of the most rewarding careers in the field of coaching. You will learn the theory of positive psychology; learn to identify, apply and put into practice a variety of positive mental health interventions, build on your clients’ character/signature strengths through identification and positive reinforcement; you will apply a number of effective positive mental health practices, build your communication and focussed listening skills, learn powerful client questioning techniques, and set client-centered goals to maximise the client’s current and future resources.

There is much to learn about yourself in this thought-provoking, unique course. You will engage in personal positive mental health exercises, including character strengths questionnaires, practises on relationships, the importance of friendships, personality types, applying emotional intelligence, practising gratitude, purpose in life, and more.

Who is this course for?

At its heart, coaching is about working with clients to help them perform at their absolute best. Though this course is most closely aligned with mental health coaching, whether you are a well-being coach, life coach, or nutrition coach, the ability to recognise strengths in play and to help your clients develop their strengths (& recognise their weaknesses) is vital to your professional strength & success. It also makes sense to evaluate your clients’ natural personality and psychological resources. For this reason, selective units of this course would be suitable and beneficial to coaches looking to expand their skills in the all-embracing concept of health.

“The latest scientific research tells us that positivity doesn’t simply reflect success and health, it can also produce success and health…positivity spells the difference between whether you languish or flourish.” - Barbara Frederickson

It is the ability to recognise emotions, understand what they're telling you, and realise how emotions affect people around you. It also involves your perception of others: when you understand how they feel, this allows you to manage relationships more effectively.
