Drawing from Ayurveda, Yoga and Somatic (body oriented) Psychotherapy, this 10-week course will give you the tools to better understand physical symptoms and illness and how to bring yourself back into balance. These traditions of healing see the body as wise and take a holistic approach to wellbeing where body, mind and spirit are supported in various ways. They understand the body in energetic terms and as such acknowledge how the quality of our thoughts and emotions influence our physical health.
You will be introduced to the three doshas (bioenergies) of Ayurveda and how they function in the physiology of the body when in balance and out of balance. You will come to understand how diseases form from the perspective of Ayurveda. We will then look at how to create a diet and lifestyle, supported by self-care practices, that aligns you with your innate healing nature. The central role of your intuition to inform self-healing will be explored as well as how to support your inner knowing.
The fascinating course will include experiential practices to help with the integration of theory as well as case histories from Dr Shaun Matthews 30 years as a holistic general practitioner, Ayurveda and Yoga Therapist.
