Chakras are energy centers within the body. The word "chakra" comes from the Sanskrit term meaning "wheel" or "disk," as they are often depicted as spinning wheels of energy. These energy centers are thought to influence both physical and emotional well-being.
There are typically seven main chakras, each associated with specific areas of the body and aspects of life:
When these chakras are "balanced" or "open," it is believed that energy flows freely through them, promoting physical, emotional, and spiritual health. Conversely, blockages or imbalances in any of the chakras can lead to physical or emotional issues.
Practices such as meditation, yoga, reiki and energetic health focus on balancing and aligning the chakras to improve overall well-being.
