Food as Medicine

Suitable for use at home or by those currently working in the field of health, this short course will provide you with the knowledge to be able to choose and recommend wholesome food and beverages and review dietary patterns, to harness the healing properties of food and beverages.

With food sources at their most nutritious when in season, Food as Medicine explores using seasonally available whole-foods to obtain essential nutrients and phytochemicals for healing and the maintenance of good health, and how to prepare and incorporate these into dietary patterns in a natural and delicious way.

You will also gain an insight into nutritional medicine history, philosophies and practices, look at the impact of nutrition on health and disease and discuss factors that influence food choices, to be confident in providing food therapy advice, designing food therapy dietary plans and using food and beverages as a therapeutic tool.

Food as Medicine can be completed as a stand alone short course and also forms part of our popular Certificate in Nutrition, Professional Certificate in Food & Nutrition Coaching and Diploma of Holistic Wellness qualifications.
