You'll be able to:

• recognise common medicinal herbs in their natural, processed, and dried forms
• identify the therapeutic effects of herbs together with their specific indications, botanic names, common names, part used, dosages and toxicology
• recognise all highly poisonous plants in their natural state
• select appropriate herbs for particular disease states

The Certificate in Western Herbal Remedies is ideal for those wishing to gain training in the core aspects of Herbal Medicine, for those wishing to 'taste test' Herbal Medicine to see if a future as a Herbalist is for them, or for personal interest to incorporate what you learn into your daily life.

You can begin the Certificate in Western Herbal Remedies at any time. There are 3 subjects in the course program. You work through the course in the sequence of Herbal Medicine Materia Medica A, B & C.

We offer two learning styles, so you can choose the one that best fits your learning preferences - or combine both approaches on a subject- by subject basis.

Self-Paced Online Learning – Learn at your own pace

Our self-paced online learning option is designed to fit your lifestyle whether you’re juggling a busy life or just love the freedom to learn independently at your own pace. With access to online content and interactive resources, self-paced learning provides you with flexible timelines so you’re in control.

• You can start any time.
• You’ll have up to six months to complete each subject.

Lecturer-Led Sessions – Optional Live Online and/or Watch the Class Recordings

Our optional live online lecturer-led sessions connect you with expert trainers in a virtual classroom, offering structured lessons and interactive discussions to keep you engaged and progressing.

How lecturer-led delivery works

• The annual course intake starts on 3 March and enrolments are now open 
• Each subject runs for a 10-week duration
• For the duration of each subject, you will have 5 fortnightly optional live online sessions with the Lecturer.
• Attend live or watch the class recording in your own time – or do both, to consolidate your learning.

Course Enrolment

You are welcome to enrol if you are 18 years and over. Nature Care’s wide demographic of learners makes learning with likeminded people an enriching and fulfilling experience.

How to enrol

You can secure your place by enrolling with a $295 deposit. Being a one-off $95 Course Program Enrolment Fee and a $200 deposit that is credited towards your first subject.

Completion of the Certificate in Western Herbal Remedies provides you with three subject credits towards the Advanced Practitioner of Clinical Western Herbal Medicine, Advanced Practitioner of Clinical Naturopathy and the Professional Certificate of Natural Remedies
